Buy Instagram followers: 6 sites I tested (and what you should know beforehand)

Let's be honest: Almost everyone who wants to build something on Instagram has thought about this at some point. A new profile with 38 followers looks to visitors like an empty restaurant on a Saturday night. They'd rather move on. That's precisely why so many people search for " buy Instagram followers ," and that's exactly why there are now countless providers outbidding each other with discounts.

For years, I've managed accounts for small brands, local shops, and creators. In the process, I've personally tested several of these services, sometimes on test profiles, sometimes on behalf of clients who simply wanted to find out. Some results were usable, others a complete failure. In this article, I'll introduce you to six sites that stood out to me and tell you quite frankly where their limitations lie.

What really matters when buying

Before we get to the providers, let me briefly discuss the points I now always check first. I didn't learn this from a manual, but from mistakes I'd rather not repeat.

No password, ever. A reputable service only needs your username. Anyone who asks for my login details is immediately banned.

Slow delivery beats fast delivery. It sounds paradoxical, but it's true. If 2,000 followers suddenly appear overnight, it looks suspicious not only to Instagram, but also to anyone who takes a closer look at your profile. A gradual delivery over a few days looks much more natural.

Refill guarantee. Some purchased followers almost always disappear again. Instagram regularly cleans up. Good providers replenish lost followers free of charge within a certain period.

Accessible support. Once, I had an order that was stuck at zero after four days. One provider responded within two hours, the other never did. That says more about a service than any homepage.

Realistic promises. Anyone promising "100% real, active German followers for 3 euros" is exaggerating. Real people who follow and comment voluntarily can't be sold for a few cents. You should know that before you order.

An overview of the 6 providers

The order is not an absolute ranking. Each service has its strengths, and what suits you best depends on what you intend to do.

1. Buylikesservices

Buylikesservices first caught my attention because of its prices. Anyone looking to buy cheap Instagram followers and test how such a service works will find a very affordable entry point here. The smallest package costs only a few dollars, and there's even a free trial package where you can test a small number of followers without needing a card. I think that makes perfect sense: first see if the delivery works smoothly, then decide.

Ordering takes just a few minutes. Enter your username, choose a package, pay, and you're done. No password is required. Besides Instagram, the site also offers likes, views, and packages for TikTok, which is handy if you're active on multiple platforms.

What I like: the straightforward process and the option to start with a small amount. What you should know: The website is in English and the prices are listed in US dollars. This isn't a problem for most people, but anyone expecting exclusively German-speaking support should be aware of this beforehand.

Good for: Beginners, small budgets, people who want to test things out first.

2. Media Mister

Media Mister appears in almost every comparison, and for good reason. The service has been on the market for a long time and covers a huge range of platforms, from Instagram and YouTube to Spotify. In some cases, you can even select which countries your followers should come from, which is particularly interesting for local businesses.

The downside: Media Mister is noticeably more expensive than the cheaper providers. You're paying for the wider selection and their greater experience. If you manage a business profile and value targeted advertising, it can be worthwhile. For an initial test, I'd recommend starting small.

Good for: Companies that value country selection and have a slightly larger budget.

3. Follower Factory

Followerfabrik is a German provider, and it shows. The website is entirely in German, as is the support, and the payment methods are tailored to the local market. For many of my clients, this was the deciding factor, because they simply wanted to be able to communicate in their own language when they had questions.

The packages are divided into different quality levels. I think that's honest, because it gives you at least an idea that there are differences. Followerfabrik's prices are in the mid to upper range.

Good for: Anyone who wants a German-speaking contact person.

4. Follower24

Follower24 also originates from a German-speaking country and has been active for several years. The large number of customer reviews found online is striking. Of course, one should never blindly trust reviews, but a long history with numerous responses is certainly a better sign than a site that was founded three months ago.

In addition to followers, there are also likes, comments, and views for various platforms. The interface is clear and easy to use, and delivery was consistent during my test.

Good for: People looking for an established provider from the DACH region.

5. GetAFollower

GetAFollower relies heavily on phased delivery. The followers don't arrive all at once, but rather spread out over a longer period. This is exactly what I recommend to anyone considering such a service. Additionally, some packages allow you to select a destination country.

The site is in English, and the prices are mid-range. It's a good option for those who want to grow their profile discreetly.

Good for: Anyone who values a natural growth curve.

6. Followershark

Followershark is another provider with a German-language website. Their offering is streamlined and easy to navigate, without requiring users to click through twenty subpages. The prices are fair, especially for medium-sized packages.

Compared to the big names, there are fewer additional options. However, those who simply want to create a solid foundation for a new profile often don't need them.

Good for: Beginners who prefer simple, German-language content.

What purchased followers can and cannot do

This is where it gets interesting, and this is where most of the rankings you find on Google are silent.

Purchased followers are a starting signal, not a growth strategy. They help with the first impression. A profile with 1,500 followers simply appears more trustworthy to new visitors than one with 40. I've seen this effect with several clients, especially small online shops that were just starting out.

What purchased followers don't do: They don't buy from you, they don't share your Reels, and they don't save your posts. But these are precisely the signals Instagram uses to decide who sees your content.

One mistake I see all the time: Someone buys 5,000 followers but then continues posting as before. The result is a profile with 5,000 followers and 30 likes per post. That's noticeable. Brands looking for partners almost always consider engagement rates these days, and a stark imbalance is immediately apparent.

Therefore, my rule of thumb is: only buy as many accounts as the numbers match your profile. An account with 12 posts and 10,000 followers doesn't look successful, it looks bought.

How to use purchased followers effectively

If you decide to go ahead with it despite everything, then please do so with a plan. This is how I approach working with clients:

  1. First, clean up your profile. A compelling bio, a good profile picture, and at least 15 to 20 strong posts. Otherwise, any effect will be wasted.
  2. Start small. Test a small package, observe for a week how many followers remain.
  3. Request slow delivery. If the supplier offers a choice, always opt for the staggered delivery.
  4. Produce real content in parallel. Reels that resonate, carousels with genuine added value, stories with surveys. That's the part that ultimately matters.
  5. Engage with the community. Respond to comments, be active on other accounts in your niche, and collaborate with similarly sized profiles.
What surprised me most was this: For clients who used purchased followers only as a small boost and then focused entirely on content creation, the purchased numbers hardly mattered after six months. Organic growth had long since surpassed them. In contrast, for those who repeatedly bought followers, reach often stagnated.
